Quest for the Holy Grail

Swamp Meadow Community Theatre Inc. presents "Quest for the Holy Grail" is a farcical comedy adapted from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. You'll find King Arthur, the Knights of the Round Table, coconuts for a horse, the knights of NI, and a “not quite dead” guy, plus so many other favorite characters. What more can we say? Quest for the Holy Grail opens on December 4, and runs to the 13 at the Captain Isaac Paine Auditorium. Showtune

Celebrate the Holidays with The Theatre Company of Rhode Island as they continue their 26th season with “Showtune” an internationally popular off-Broadway musical revue celebrating the words and music of Broadway composer Jerry Herman. Its name was inspired by Herman's memoir of the same name.  The songs featured in “Showtune” come from Herman's Broadway musicals including Hello, Dolly!, Mame, Mack & Mabel, and La Cage aux Folles.  With Jerry Herman's life affirming songs, “Showtune is uplifting and fun. Skip American Idol and spend the evening with a real American treasure. Swamp Meadow Community Theater

 Auditions Back to Back     SMCT is will be doing two productions that will be opening in the spring of 2010. Auditions will start in the first full week in January starting with ”Alice in Wonderland” on Jan. 5, 6, 7 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Then the following week with The Fantasticks  on  Jan 12, 13, 14  6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. I have both dates and times in bold & underlined so mark your calendars.     

Alice in Wonderland” will have 10 Major Roles, 20 Substantial Roles, 20 Roles with some lines, and an unlimited number of walk on roles.  Most roles are not Gender Specific. Roles are available for children and adults from 3 to 103.   No memory piece required.  Auditions will consist of reading and acting from the Characters that interest you. Play Dates are Apr. 30 May 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 For more information contact Bob Hollis (revbobh@aol.com.- 401-397-4740)     

"The Fantasticks" will have roles for 5-7 males and 1-3 females, age 13 and up. Each person auditioning should come prepared to sing a capella, up to a minute and a half.  We will have cold readings from the script and some dance movement. No memory piece will be required. Note that there is one non-speaking and non-singing role - come prepared with a short mime routine.
